How Long Does It Take to Play This Reading Escape Room Game?

  • We recommend that you allow about one hour to complete the reading escape room game.
  • The escape room can be completed over multiple classes as long as the students keep their answer sheet open.

How Should Students be Organized when Playing the Reading Escape Room?

  • We recommend that students play in groups. This fosters independent learning and ensures teachers are able to serve as a Guide on the Side, maximizing teachable moments and guiding students toward higher-level thinking.
  • Any student who receives a link will have access to the escape room. Once inside the escape room, students can work together or on their own at the teacher’s discretion. If you like, each group can enter answers on only one computer.
  • Groups who finish early can complete the Digital Escape Room Reflection Sheet.

Where do students record their answers for the Reading Escape Room?

  • Students enter their final answers on the Answer Sheet (i.e. Google Form) inside the Reading Escape Room.

Students find the Answer Sheet by clicking on the magnifying glass icon.

    • We believe it’s helpful for students to use scratch paper while playing the Reading Escape Room to record their answers. Using scratch paper ensures that if there is an unexpected technical glitch, students will still be able to re-enter their answers onto the Answer Sheet inside the Reading Escape Room.)

How do Students Play the Reading Escape Room Game i.e., “move around” in the 360º photo?

    • Click and drag the mouse to move throughout the 360 environment.
    • Students enter their answers in the Google Form located at the Magnifying Glass.
    • We recommend students keep the Answer Sheet open (or use scratch paper) throughout the reading escape room game until they are finished.
