THIS RESOURCE COMES WITH A FREE LIST OF CHARACTER TRAITS (which you can find in our Character Traits Lesson Plan).

We recommend that you teach character traits to your students before allowing them to try the reading escape room. This reading escape room does assume that students have been exposed to character traits lessons prior to playing.

How long does it take to complete the challenge?

We recommend you allow 60 – 90 minutes to complete the reading escape room.

The escape room can be completed over multiple classes as long as the students keep their answer sheet open.

We recommend students work in groups. Groups who finish early can complete the Digital Escape Room Reflection Sheet.

How do I “move around” in the 360º photo?

Click and drag the mouse to move throughout the 360 environment.

Clues involve:

Putting together jigsaw puzzles, solving word searches and crossword puzzles, completing fill-in-the-blanks, sequencing events, finding synonyms for specific character traits, and reading, listening to, and answering questions based on short stories.

Spooky noises surprise the students throughout the escape room so you might want to have them wear headsets so others aren’t disturbed.
