Getting students to read and understand the meaning of prefixes and suffixes is hard. Nevermind trying to get them to absorb multiple definitions at once. This is why we’ve created a cheat sheet for them! These lists double as BOOKMARKS so students can have easy access to prefix and suffix definitions while they read.

These lists will really help your students quickly read longer prefixed and suffixed words and understand what they are reading . . . the fluency and comprehension they get in a fun format!

This prefix and suffix list product contains 4 Different Prefix and Suffix Lists. Each sheet has 12-13 definitions. Students will have colorful bookmarks to help remember most common prefixes and suffixes! we recommend printing on thick paper and laminating before use.

Research shows that even though students are able to read a multisyllabic word with prefixes and suffixes in isolation, they frequently “freeze up” when reading the word within a sentence. With these easy-access bookmarks, they can decode words with prefixes and suffixes while they are reading!
